Posting Guidelines
These guidelines apply to all organizations posting listings on Volunteer Clinton County. We review all submissions before publishing. By submitting a listing, you agree to these guidelines and our Terms of Use.
Who can post
Any registered nonprofit, school, library, faith community, civic group, emergency service organization, government agency, or community program that genuinely serves residents of Clinton County, Pennsylvania may apply for an organization account and post listings.
Organizations must submit a registration application and be approved before listings go live. We verify that each organization is a genuine, active Clinton County entity. For-profit businesses are generally not eligible unless the posting is for a clear community service activity with no commercial benefit to the business.
What you may post
- Volunteer opportunities where the primary benefit is community service, not organizational profit.
- Events that involve meaningful volunteer participation (setup, cleanup, day-of support, etc.).
- Board positions at legitimate nonprofit or civic organizations.
- Donation needs (goods, supplies, equipment) for genuine community programs.
- Community drives led by registered organizations benefiting Clinton County residents.
- Opportunities for student volunteers, court-ordered volunteers, or specialized skill volunteers, clearly labeled as such.
- Recurring or ongoing volunteer roles, clearly identified as such.
What is not allowed
- Paid positions, internships, or work placements disguised as volunteer opportunities.
- Listings primarily intended to raise money (fundraising events with no volunteer component).
- Partisan political activity — listings must not support or oppose any candidate, political party, or ballot measure.
- Religious recruitment or conversion activities — faith communities may post genuine service and community activities, but not listings designed primarily to attract new members.
- Spam, duplicate listings, or listings for the same need posted repeatedly in a short time period.
- Listings for organizations not operating in Clinton County, PA.
- Listings for activities that are illegal, unsafe, or contrary to public health and safety.
- Listings containing false, misleading, or materially inaccurate information.
- Commercial services advertised as volunteer opportunities (e.g., MLM recruitment, sales roles).
Keeping listings current
Organizations are responsible for keeping their listings accurate and up to date. We encourage organizations to:
- Review listings at least once a month and renew or update them as needed.
- Set a realistic expiration date rather than setting listings to "never expire."
- Remove or unpublish listings immediately when a need is filled or a position is no longer open.
- Respond to the periodic verification reminders we send by email.
Listings that are not renewed or verified will be automatically expired and removed from public view. Organizations that repeatedly allow listings to become severely outdated may have their posting privileges suspended.
Enforcement
We reserve the right to reject any listing that does not comply with these guidelines, and to remove any listing at any time without notice if we determine it violates these guidelines or our Terms of Use. Organizations that repeatedly violate these guidelines may have their accounts suspended.
If you see a listing that appears to violate these guidelines, please use the "Report" button on the listing or contact us.
