Is Volunteer Clinton County free to use?

Yes — completely free. There are no fees to search for opportunities, no subscription to contact organizations, and no cost for organizations to post listings.

Do I need to create an account to find volunteer opportunities?

No. You can browse all listings and view contact information without an account. An account (organization account) is only needed if you represent a nonprofit or community group and want to post your own listings.

How do I sign up to volunteer?

Find an opportunity that interests you, then click 'Contact organization' to reach the org directly. There's no application process through this website — each organization handles its own volunteer intake. They'll let you know what's needed.

Can I use listings to fulfill school service hour requirements?

Many listings are marked as student-friendly and are suitable for school service hours. However, it's your responsibility to confirm with the organization that your specific school's requirements can be met, and to bring any documentation your school requires. Organizations will generally sign off on official school forms. Browse student-friendly listings at /for-students.

Can I use listings to fulfill court-ordered community service?

Some listings are marked as accepting court-ordered volunteers. Look for the court-ordered indicator on the opportunity detail page. Always contact the organization first to confirm they can accommodate your specific order requirements and provide documentation. It is your responsibility to ensure the placement meets your court's conditions. Volunteer Clinton County does not verify compliance with individual court orders.

Do listings expire?

Yes. Listings are set with an expiration date by the posting organization, or expire automatically after a standard period if not renewed. Expired listings are removed from public view. Organizations receive reminder emails before expiration.

How do I report outdated or inaccurate information?

Use the 'Report' link on any listing detail page, or contact us through the contact form. We aim to review reports within 2 business days.

Does the directory cover all of Clinton County?

Yes. We cover every borough and township in Clinton County, PA — including Lock Haven, Mill Hall, Renovo, Avis, Flemington, Beech Creek, Lamar, Loganton, and all rural areas. If you're in Clinton County, we can help.

I represent a nonprofit. How do I post a listing?

You can submit a quick listing at /post-a-need without creating an account. For full access (managing multiple listings, board openings, events, donation needs, and an organization profile), register your organization at /org/register. New organizations are reviewed before listings go live.

What types of volunteer needs can be posted?

Approved organizations can post: volunteer opportunities, events, board openings, donation needs, and community drives. All listings must be for genuine community benefit in Clinton County. See our Posting Guidelines for what is and isn't allowed.

How long does it take for a new organization to be approved?

Most applications are reviewed within 3–5 business days. You'll receive an email when your application is approved, needs more information, or is not approved. Incomplete applications take longer.

Are clearances required to volunteer?

It depends on the opportunity. Some organizations — especially those working with children, seniors, or vulnerable populations — require Pennsylvania background clearances (PA State Police, PA Child Abuse History, and/or FBI fingerprinting). Check each listing carefully and contact the org if you're unsure. Clearances are your responsibility to obtain unless the org offers reimbursement.
