Sleep in Heavenly Peace – PA, Lock Haven

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is an all-volunteer charity that builds and delivers sturdy twin beds to local children who don't have one of their own. The idea behind it is simple: no kid sleeps on the floor in our town. The PA-Lock Haven chapter launched in November 2022 and serves families across Clinton, Lycoming, and Centre counties, covering the Keystone Central, Jersey Shore, and Bellefonte school districts. Volunteers gather for bed-building days where they cut, sand, drill, brand, and assemble solid wood bed frames, then deliver them fully made up with a new mattress, sheets, a pillow, and a comforter. At one build day in a donated Lock Haven warehouse, 60 volunteers finished 19 beds in under six hours. Everything is free to the families who receive it. No experience is needed to help. Tools and instruction are provided on site, and there's a job for every skill level, from running a drill to sewing pillowcases to riding along on deliveries.
