Publish only the contact details you meant to
Your organization's private email never appears on your page, and the phone, address and public email each show only if you tick their box.
Every contact field on your organization profile carries its own visibility box, and a field with its box unticked is not sent to the public page at all. Email (private) is a separate operational address the site uses to reach your organization about volunteer interest and account notices, and it never prints on your page; anything you want the world to have goes in a second Public contact email. Leaving all four unticked does not cut you off, because people can still raise a hand on your listings and reach you that way.
Who this is for: Small operations run from a home phone and a personal inbox, where the contact details on a page are somebody's actual life.
Before you start: Owner or manager access to your organization.

Open "Profile" and read "Email (private)" first. That is your operational address, and the note under it says it is not shown on your public profile.

Put whatever you are happy for the world to have in "Public contact email", then tick "Show this email on your public profile." if you want it visible.

Do the same under "Phone" with "Show this phone number on your public profile."

Expand "Location & service area" for "Address". Its box also controls whether your address is handed to search engines, so a home address is worth leaving unticked.

Expand "Volunteer contact person" to name whoever people should actually ask for, and tick "Show the volunteer contact person on your public profile."

Press "Save changes", then open your public page, press the "Contact info" button under your organization name, and check the "At a glance" card it jumps to says exactly what you meant it to.
You'll know it worked when: An At a glance card on your public page carrying only the contact rows you ticked, and a Contact info button that only appears when at least one of them survived.
Watch out for: A visibility box will not hold if the field behind it is empty. Show this email needs something in Public contact email, and the volunteer contact person box needs a name, so fill the field first and tick second.
What this doesn't do: Not a masked relay. What you publish is genuinely published: it is written on the page in a way that makes life harder for address harvesters, but any person reading it can use it, so publish a shared address rather than somebody's own.
They do different jobs. Email (private) is how the site reaches your organization about volunteer interest and account notices, and it is never rendered on your public page. Public contact email is the one you are willing to publish, and even that only appears when its box is ticked. Plenty of organizations put the same address in both; plenty of others do not.
Through your listings, as long as somebody is set up to receive it. Interest raised on a listing is emailed to owners and managers who have the Volunteer interest notification switched on in their settings, so nothing on the page has to carry your address. If nobody has that toggle on and the listing itself carries no contact email, the volunteer is told your organization cannot take applications right now, so check your notification settings before you hide everything.
Naming the human rather than the organization. It carries a name and, optionally, an email and phone, and it is worth using when the person who handles volunteers is not the person on the main number. It stays hidden until you tick its box, and the box needs a name filled in first.
Yes. Ticking it also puts your address into the structured data search engines read, and shows the map on your page. That is exactly what you want for a building people should visit, and exactly what you do not want when the address is somebody's house.
Organizations that were on the site before these controls existed kept their existing visibility, so nothing quietly disappeared or appeared. What changed is that you can now turn any of them off individually rather than all or nothing.
